Composite Curve Number Calculator
Area-weighted NRCS curve number across up to six land-use / soil-group subareas, per TR-55 Chapter 2. Enter each subarea's CN and area; the calculator returns the weighted CN (unrounded and rounded), potential retention S, and initial abstraction Ia. Look up subarea CNs on the curve number reference card.
Leave unused subareas blank. S and Ia are computed from the rounded CN in inches per the TR-55 convention. If the pervious CN is below ~60 or impervious area is unconnected, compute runoff separately per subarea instead of weighting (TR-55 Ch. 2) — a single weighted CN under-predicts small-storm runoff in those cases.
